The ahadith which speak about Ziyarat-e-Ashura refer to it as being an obligatory (wajib) act which each person who claims to be a Shi’a must perform at least once in his life.
For the months of Muharram & Safar, ShiaSisters.net has decided have a recitation campaign of the following excerpt from Ziyarat-e-Ashura as many times as possible.
Peace be on you, O Abu Abdullah, and on those souls who came to your camp to put themselves at your disposal. So far I am alive and the days and nights follow each other I invoke Allah to send blessings on you for ever and ever. May Allah not make my this pledge of close association, physical as well as spiritual, with you the last fulfillment.
This section which is to be recited 100 times in Ziyarat-e-Ashura, is one in which we express our love and greetings to the Imam, his family and the companions killed with him. The importance in this section is that these greetings which we convey to our Imam are perpetual and do not end with the day of Ashura – rather, they continue on until the end of this world. So, even if we are physically dead in our graves, we, the true Shi’a would continue to send our greetings to the Imam even from our station in Barzakh.
All sisters are encouraged to pledge as many recitations as possible.
This recitation can be done in Arabic, Urdu, English, or any other language you are comfortable with. So, let's all make our pledges and start reciting the blessed Ziyarat!
The totals will be updated weekly as the pledges are received:
Total Pledges: 39,000
(updated every week)
